Rumors about the launch of Nintendo Switch 2 next year are sparking immense excitement within the gaming community. Many are questioning whether graphically intensive AAA titles from PS4 and PS5 can be brought to this handheld console, and if it will have the power to compete with handheld PCs like the Steam Deck.
One of the most talked-about rumors is the possibility of Elden Ring being ported to Nintendo Switch 2. Similar to the case of Dark Souls Remastered, Virtuos studio is once again believed to be entrusted with bringing a demanding AAA game to a mobile platform.
Additionally, the game being referred to as Elden Ring Definitive Edition has fans even more excited, as it suggests they could enjoy the full content of Elden Ring, including the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, directly on their Switch 2.
Previously, Elden Ring had already proven its ability to run smoothly on the Steam Deck, so there is reason to expect a well-optimized version on the Nintendo Switch 2. While the Switch 2’s hardware may not match the Steam Deck’s, Nintendo’s history of successfully porting major AAA games to the Switch gives us hope for an excellent experience on this next-generation model.
If Elden Ring does indeed appear on Nintendo Switch 2, it would be an encouraging sign that the trend of bringing AAA games to mobile platforms is growing. This means players can look forward to experiencing many more high-graphics titles on the Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches next year.
